Mumbai: After making a big splash in Bollywood with her debut film ‘Rockstar’, Nargis Fakhri lost out on her dream film opposite Akshay Kumar. Would you like to know the reason why she was opted out? Well, we hear Mithun Da is the one to blame! Apparently, Nargis was supposed to play Mithun’s sister in the film, but according to the makers the actress just couldn’t fit in the role. Talking to daily, a source said, “Nargis was signed by Himesh Reshammiya and Akshay Kumar to play Amitabh's sister in the film. However after Bachchan pulled out, Akshay roped in Mithun to essay the role of gangster Tatya Tukaram Tendulkar. That changed a lot of things.” After Mithun Da’s replacing Big B, there was no way the filmmakers would pass off the sophisticated Nargis as the earthy actor's sister, added the source. Nargis who was excited about the role had to opt out of the film. There are no ill feelings though. "They have decided to keep their options open for a future project that may bring them together. Right now, the hunt is on for a new leading lady," the source added. In the film Paresh Rawal and Himesh Reshammiya play Gujarati characters of Champak Lal and Mansukh and Akshay Kumar plays a Punjabi guy. ‘Khiladi 786’ is being directed by debutante Ashish R. Mohan and the film is expected to go on floors this June.
