New Delhi: The wait for the second film in the `Twilight` saga is over.The Robert Pattinson-Kristen Stewart starrer `New Moon` will release in India on December 11.
Directed by Chris Weitz, the film was released on November 20 internationally. It has already created a ripple with its record-breaking opening at the box-office where it raked in USD 258.8 million in the opening weekend.
`New Moon` is being brought to India by PVR Pictures, who are planning one of the widest release for the film with over 300 prints.
Considering the huge fan following that the movie has among the youth, PVR is also planning to release it in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
"With record-breaking collections that New Moon has achieved internationally in its opening weekend, we are very excited to release it across the country.
"We are confident that it will break the record set by `2012` and be one of the biggest films of the year," Deepak Sharma, Head-Distribution (Worldwide), PVR Pictures said in a statement.
The series, based on the bestselling novels of Stephanie Meyer, chronicles the romance between a vampire and human.
Pattinson, who became an international star with `Twilight`, reprises his role as vampire Edward Cullen in `New Moon`. Stewart plays the role of Bella Swan while TaylorLautner plays werewolf Jacob Black.
