New Delhi: In what might come as a blow to Aamir Khan's wish to hold a special screening of `PK` for his dear friend Sanjay Dutt in jail, reports suggest that there will now be no screening.
According to reports, the Maharashtra Police's prison department has rejected Aamir's request of holding a screening for Sanjay in the Yerwada prison, where Dutt is currently serving his punishment.
Dutt, 55, essays the role of Aamir's friend Bhairo Singh in the film. Mr. Perfectionist Khan had expressed his desire to organise a special screening for Dutt recently at a promotional event.
It has been also learnt that the authorities do not want to show preferential treatment towards the 55 year-old actor as they treat all the prisoners equally.
Dutt was convicted by the Supreme Court for illegal possession of arms in relation to the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case and was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment. Dutt had served 18 months of his jail term earlier and had surrendered himself to the TADA court on May 18th, 2013 to serve the remaining punishment.
PK', produced by Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Siddharth Roy Kapur, also stars Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani, Saurabh Shukla among others.
The film will hit theatres on December 19
