New Delhi: Amidst confusion and speculation, it has been revealed that porn star and former ‘Bigg Boss’ inmate Sunny Leone has signed Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Jism 2’. The official account of the film on Twitter announced the news on Wednesday midnight.
Director Pooja Bhatt tweeted, “Delighted to announce that #Sunnyleone is the female lead of #Jism2(sic).
The porn star is expected to come to Delhi in March to shoot for the film.
Speaking to a daily, Pooja said, “It can now be yelled from the rooftop that ‘Jism 2’ is Sunny Leone and Sunny Leone is ‘Jism 2’. I took a long time to finalise the lead
because somewhere something didn’t feel right. And then I found her in my backyard while watching TV.”
“Yes, Sunny belongs to Delhi in the film. Her roots, in real life are also from that part of the country (North India). We will be shooting in Delhi and then in Jaipur. She is playing a girl who is just out of University. There is a phase of blossoming romance in the film and what better place than Delhi to shoot it!” added Bhatt.
Pooja is now on the lookout for the two male leads. “One is going to be young and one will be in his early 40s.”
So is the popular star being paid a hefty amount for her debut film in Bollywood? “Most people think it’s distasteful to talk about the human body; I think it’s distasteful to talk about cash,” said Pooja.
Earlier, speculations were rife that Sunny had opted out of the project after hearing the script. There were also reports that indicated that Sunny was keen on doing a film with Salman Khan.
But putting all speculations to rest, Sunny on Wednesday tweeted, “Hey everyone! So excited to be working on JISM 2. Remember to follow @jism2 to get all the movie news first! Xoxo(sic).”
