Padmavati: Know why Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s blue-eyed boy Ranveer Singh asked for narration

Mumbai: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ has been making headlines for its casting. While Deepika Padukone is believed to have been roped in for the titular role, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh will reportedly play the male leads in the period film.

We know for a fact that Ranveer is SLB’s blue-eyed boy. The star that is a bundle of energy has been able to prove his versatility courtesy Bhansali’s ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’. And hence the ace filmmaker has an enormous role to play in the actor’s success story so far.

But there were speculations that suggested that the actor-director duo had a tiff over the narration. Given the fact that SLB is Ranveer’s mentor, the latter’s demand for a narration reportedly upset the filmmaker.

According to a report in dnaindia.com, Ranveer was apprehensive with the offer after he learnt of Shahid’s presence on board the film.

“Ranveer’s role in the film is a negative, but powerful one. SLB has given him some superb dialogues and scenes. But the comfort level between the actor and director changed when Shahid Kapoor came on board as the Rana of Mewar, Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, who is also Padmavati’s (Deepika Padukone) husband in the film,” DNA quoted a source as saying.

But things are fine now between SLB and his Ram. The ‘Bajirao’ of Bollywood has also started growing beard for the project, latest report suggests.
