Pakistani actor Ali Zafar not a part of Shah Rukh Khan-Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Dear Zindagi’? Here’s the truth

Mumbai: The MNS led by Raj Thackeray had threatened to stall the release of Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees for having Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan respectively in their films. Even Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi had made headlines for having Ali Zafar on board.

But after the intervention of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the matter was resolved and the MNS agreed to allow smooth release of the aforementioned films.

However, speculations were rife that Ali Zafar may no longer be a part of the Ali Bhatt starrer. But latest report suggests that the Pakistani singer-actor will remain an integral part of the film and has not been replaced by Tahir Raj Bhasin.

A source close to film's production house Dharma Productions, however, refuted replacement reports and said Tahir has shot only for the promotional song.

Tahir is best known for his negative role in Rani Mukerji-starrer Mardaani.

Sources close to the 29-year-old actor maintain a "no- comments" stand.

The Gauri Shinde-directorial venture which is slated to release on November 25 also features superstar SRK, Angad Bedi, Aditya Roy Kapur, Kunal Kapoor besides Ali Zafar.
