Los Angeles: Sony Pictures India is all set to enthral audiences in India with their upcoming sci-fi comedy film “Pixels" from July 31.
It will be available in 3D, said a statement.
Directed by Chris Columbus, the man behind classics like “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone”, “Home Alone” and “Mrs. Doubtfire”, the film has a star-cast that features Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Josh Gad and Peter Dinklage, among others.
In the film, Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), Will Cooper (Kevin James), Ludlow Lamonsoff (Josh Gad), and Eddie Plant (Peter Dinklage) -- children growing up in the 1980s -- saved the world thousands of times, that too at 25 cents a game in the video arcades. But now, they have to do it for real.
When intergalactic aliens discover video feeds of classic arcade games and misinterpret them as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth (one of the targets being the Taj Mahal) using the video games as the models for their assaults while US President Cooper must call on his old-school arcade friends to save the world from being destroyed by PAC-MAN, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Centipede, and Space Invaders.
Joining them is Lt. Col. Violet Van Patten (Michelle Monaghan), a specialist supplying the arcaders with unique weapons to fight the aliens.
