Proud moment! Mahesh Bhatt showers praises on 'wonder child' Alia Bhatt for 'gut-wrenching' performance in 'Udta Punjab'

New Delhi: A lot has been talked about Abhishek Chaubey's 'Udta Punjab' which released today. First the movie mired into a sea of controversies for its content and then embroiled in a tussle with CBFC. However, the movie is already getting positive reviews mainly for its soul and the lead performances.

Alia Bhatt plays a rustic girl who falls into the trap of drug-addict in the movie. And as the teaser promised, Alia has delivered a terrific performance. What could be a more proud moment for father Mahesh Bhatt than being praised for his daughter?

Bhatt took to twitter to congratulate Alia for her 'gut-wrenching' performance in the film. Bhatt shared a picture of his daughter with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan at the special screening of the movie.
