Rajini motivates Japan to watch Indian films!

Zeenews Bureau Mumbai: Rajinikanth can certainly make all impossible things happen and we mean literally. The Rajini fever has gripped a senior official from the oldest film production studio in Japan, who is presently in India’s financial capital to attend the ongoing Mumbai International film festival. Aki Sugihara, while talking to reporters said, “This is my very first Mumbai film festival and my very first visit to India. I think it`s a pity that Indian pictures have been imported to Japanese market.” Sugihara also said that Indian films have a global reach but haven’t touched Japan as yet. Though a couple of films do get screened in Japan, the Japanese film goers have least information about the latest films that are produced. Explaning how Rajinikanth’s blockbuster flick `Robot` inspired him to watch more Indian films, Sugihara said, “Athough I didn`t buy the picture, the information about `Robot` came to us as a good stimulus to motivate us to pay more attention to Indian pictures. Before I came here, I knew there was a project called `RA.One` and `3 Idiots`. The rights for `3 Idiots` had been sold to every Asian country except Japan. We would like to do something for Indian pictures and I have been meeting Indian film producers.” Japan might not have been able to keep a tab on the latest Hindi films, but they are a huge fan of Rajinikanth. “About 15 years ago, Tamil movie `Muthu` starring Rajinikanth (with the Japanese title of `Dancing Maharaja`) turned out to be a big hit in Tokyo,” Sugihara said. He also said that earlier, the Japanese people were under the impression that all Indian films are about songs and dance until they heard about `Robot` and `3 Idiots`.
