Mumbai, Dec 05: The multi-starrer ‘Dil Kabaddi’, which hit cinema screens all over this Friday, is about modern day marriage which gradually tends to become a routine struggle for a couple. The film surely makes you laugh, and at the same time lets you explore some exciting options out of marriage. What binds the movie together is some spontaneous performances by all the actors and some hilarious comic sequences in the story. Especially Irrfan Khan, who plays a self-confessed sex addict, has managed to pull off the character effortlessly. Directed by Anil Senior, the story revolves around a highflying executive Samit (Irrfan Khan) and his control freak wife Mita (Soha Ali Khan), who are tired of their dull and boring married life. While Mita longs for a more sympathetic partner, easy going Samit craves for naughtier and more adventurous sex life. Then one day Samit’s good luck finds him a perfect sex goddess, Kaya (Payal Rohatgi), who happens to be an aerobics instructor, and he moves in with her to get some real fun. Samit and Mita`s supposed separation forces a seemingly perfect couple Rishi (Rahul Bose) and Simi (Konkona Sen Sharma) to take a close look at their marriage. And guess what, they come down to realising that no one has a ‘perfect marriage’. Rishi, a pseudo intellectual professor, secretly fantasises about his young, attractive student Raga. And the over critical columnist Simi has sexual desires of her own that she never quite confronts. Then comes the handsome art director Veer (Rahul Khanna) who is just recovering from a broken relationship. Simi is swept off her feet by Veer who on the other hand falls for the lonely Mita. 'Dil Kabaddi' vows to attract the viewers with strong theme, power packed performances by the skilled actors and creatively written the dialogues. So, if you are willing to have some plain fun, ‘Dil Kabaddi’ is not a bad option. Rating: Three cheers for this one!
