Los Angeles: Oscar-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss will portray the convicted financier Bernie Madoff on a biographical miniseries centering on the businessman's rise and fall.
Madoff was convicted of fraud in the Ponzi scheme that is considered to be the largest financial fraud in US history. He was sentenced to 150 years in prison in 2009.
'Madoff' will be based on a book by ABC's correspondent Brian Ross, 'The Madoff Chronicles: Inside the Secret World of Bernie and Ruth', reported Aceshowbiz.
The project is executive produced by Linda Berman and Joe Pichirallo. Ben Robbins ('Strays') is penning the script. More details including premiere date and the specific number of episodes have yet to be revealed.
