Mumbai: While the success of ‘Rowdy Rathore’ has fueled talks of its sequel, trade buzz has it that Akki’s mega blockbuster has found its place in the Top 5 Bollywood films of all time.
As far as the figures suggest, Aamir Khan rules on the top courtesy ‘3 Idiots’ which garnered Rs. 202 crore. Following close is Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg’ and ‘Bodyguard’ which set the Box Office on fire amassing over 140 crores each. Akshay’s ‘Rowdy Rathore’ is fast catching up with Salman’s ‘Ready’ which accumulated Rs. 121 crores.
An industry expert confirmed, “Rowdy Rathore has now comfortably surpassed 120 crores in its third weekend itself, hence leaving behind the likes of Ra.One (115 crore), Agneepath (120 crores) and for that matter even Salman Khan`s Ready (121 crores).”
Now, the real test for ‘Rowdy Rathore’ is to sustain in the coming weeks as the battle intensifies with the release of much awaited films.
"It would be quite difficult to cross that milestone though since in coming weeks, Akshay faces challenge from Shahid Kapoor (Teri Meri Kahaani) and The Amazing Spiderman which arrive back to back", an insider said.
However, according to film analysts ‘Rowdy Rathore’ could easily come close to the Rs. 135-crore mark, which is a huge achievement considering the fact that Akshay was facing rough weather last year.
