Mumbai: Jacqueline Fernandez was initially apprehensive about her role in ‘Brothers’ starring Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra. Reason- the Sri Lankan hottie had reservations playing a mother in the Karan Johar film!
According to a DNA report, Jackie, who had reservations essaying the intense character, was convinced by Salman Khan to say ‘yes’ to the role that was being offered by Johar and filmmaker Karan Malhotra.
“I discussed it with Salman and he convinced me to say yes. He told me it would benefit me and that here was a chance for me to prove myself through performance and I should not worry about the glamour and styling taking it away. I thought if I could pull this off, it would be fantastic for me and my credentials as an actor. I pretty much owe it to Karan and Salman for believing that I could carry off the role,” DNA quoted Jacqueline as saying.
Jackie essays the role of Jenny Fernandes, wife of David Fernandes (played by Akshay Kumar).
Slated to release on 14 August, ‘Brothers’, a film based on Mixed Martial arts, is an official remake of Hollywood movie ‘Warrior’.
