Sam Raimi to direct `Army of Darkness 2`

Sam Raimi, who directed the original `Evil Dead` trilogy, will return to his post as a helmer for `Army of Darkness 2`.

Los Angeles: Sam Raimi, who directed the original `Evil Dead` trilogy, will return to his post as a helmer for `Army of Darkness 2`.
The confirmation comes straight from Fede Alvarez, the director of the `Evil Dead` remake, which was released this April, reported Ace Showbiz. "Sam Raimi will helm the upcoming sequel to 1992`s `Army of Darkness`," the Uruguayan director tweeted. The original cast Bruce Campbell, who co-produced the recent remake with Raimi, is expected to reprise his demon-slashing role in the forthcoming sequel. He recently assured that the movie was happening despite the long delay. "The last one was twenty-two years ago. I just haven`t been racing to do it. Sam Raimi is just a little bit busy making the biggest movies in Hollywood. I used to be busy. Now I`m not," the actor said. While Raimi moves forward with `Army of Darkness 2`, Alvarez hopes to make a sequel to his `Evil Dead` reboot. After the release of both films, the two worlds (Jane Levy`s Mia and Campbell`s Ash) might come together for one final installment.
