New Delhi: And the wait is over! Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush and Akshara Haasan starrer ‘Shamitabh’ directed by R. Balki has hit the silverscreen today.

This is Big B’s third film with Balki, the previous ones being – ‘Cheeni Kum’ and ‘Paa’. One of the most anticipated films of the year 2015, ‘Shamitabh’ has an unconventional cast on board. After ‘Raanjhanaa’, Dhanush makes a comeback to Bollywood with this film, which also marks the debut of Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter Akshara.

Aparna Mudi of Zeenews.com watched the film a while back.

You may take a look at the quick review here:

After Cheeni Kum and Paa, Balki and amitabh come together again for #Shamitabh. The promos have been promising let's see how the film goes

Dhanush was quite impressive in Raanjhana this might be his film to impress bollywood. #Shamitabh

Balki takes us to rural Maharashtra with dhanush playing Danish growing up on a diet of films

Dhanush is quite impressive. He has the talent to put many stalwarts to shame.

The idea behind #Shamitabh comes to fore.

Enter Big B... With his extraordinary voice.

Balki brings out the best in amitabh... #Shamitabh

#shamitabh lives the highlife after his first film... Loving the chemistry between dhanush and big b

The film starts slow. #Shamitabh has an interesting premise. But it still needs pace.

Amitabh is brilliant in #shamitabh. His soliloquy is poignant. His voice, his stance, his dialogue delivery they stand out

Akshara haasan fades in comparison to dhanush and amitabh

Amitabh takes the show... #Shamitabh

#Shamitabh started off with promise. But it is too slow.
