The first poster of Sonam Kapoor's 'Neerja' is out!

Mumbai: The trailer of ‘Neerja’ starring Sonam Kapoor playing the titular role was launched Thursday.

Terrorists had entered the aircraft Pan Am 73 posing as Pakistani police personnel, carrying arms and hand grenades on September 5, 1986.

Lives of hundreds of people travelling on the hijacked flight were at stake. Brave-heart Neerja, who was the chief flight purser of the flight, saved the lives of a number of passengers by risking her own life. She was killed in the shootout following the hijack at Karachi International Airport.

She was posthumously conferred with the Ashoka Chakra, India's highest peacetime gallantry award, in 1987, making her the youngest and first woman recipient of the medal.
