New Delhi: Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor has so far been seen playing different yet quirky characters in her films. The latest buzz surrounding the stylish diva is that she might play the role of heroic Neerja Bhanot, who died saving passengers in the ill-fated Pan Am flight 73.
According to a leading daily, Sonam can be seen playing the 'real' hero on 'reel' soon. The project will reportedly be handled by filmmaker Ram Madhvani. Neerja was the air hostess in Pan Am flight 73, which was enroute from Bombay to Frankfurt in 1986. It was this young lady, who had reportedly cautioned the plane captain about the possible hijack.
It was Neerja, who stayed back and saved the passengers from the hijackers, caring the least about her own life. She was awarded the most coveted Ashoka Chakra, becoming the youngest ever to win the honour.
However, no official statement has been made by the filmmaker or by the actress as yet.
