Tom Cruise to gain weight for latest role as Barry Seal in 'Mena'

London: Tom Cruise seems to be a perfectionist when it comes to acting as he is all set to put on lot of weight for his role in thriller flick 'Mena', it has been reported.

The 'Top Gun' star will portray the role of pilot Barry Seal, who trafficked drugs and guns for Colombian gangsters before becoming a CIA agent, the Daily Star reported.

Experts said that the American actor needs to gain at least 50lb i.e. around three-and-a-half stones - to "chunk-out" his face and neck.

A senior executive at Universal Pictures said that the 52-year-old actor was determined to becomeBarry Seal as the actor believed it was the only way he could do justice to an incredible script.

Cruise wore a " fat suit" to play an obese movie mogul in the 2008 comedy 'Tropic Thunder' but the actor has been told he cannot do the same for ' Mena ' as it would not look realistic.
