Los Angeles: Hollywood star Tom Cruise and his 'Edge of Tomorrow' director Doug Liman are in talks to reteam on film 'Mena', a fact-based tale about pilot Barry Seal, who was also a drug trafficker.
The Gary Spinelli-scripted drama was bought by Universal Pictures last year for USD 1 million.
Seal, in the 1980s, transported contraband for the CIA and an organised network of drug suppliers and smugglers, Medellin Cartel.
He was eventually shot to death by the Medellin Cartel in Baton Rouge. The film's title refers to Mena, Arkansas, where a lot of the illegal activity took place.
If this all comes together, the film would shoot sometime this year. The film will be produced by Doug Davison with Imagine's Brian Grazer.
