New Delhi: Among the three major sleuth films that were announced last year, it is Vidya Balan`s `Bobby Jasoos` that is being presented to the audience first and the actress is glad to be leading the race to the theatres. The other two films are Dibakar Banerjee`s `Byomkesh Bakshi`, a period take on the popular detective hero from Bengali fiction and Ranbir Kapoor starrer- `Jagga Jasoss`, which is being directed by Anurag Basu.
"I am so thrilled that we are coming first... I am sure the other films will be different and they are all being made by wonderful directors and have amazing actors in it. But Bobby is the only female detective you know," Vidya said in an interview. In `Bobby Jasoos`, the 36-year-old actress plays a girl who wants to be the best detective in Hyderabad. Vidya says in her school and college day she used to do her fair share of spying when it came to matters of love. "The spying bug is in everyone. As human beings we want to know about things that other`s don`t want to reveal. In school and college, I used to spy for friends or myself in order to get all information about a person I had a crush on or if a friend of mine liked someone," she said. The actress says one major effect that this film has had on her is that she has probably become more shrewd and street smart. "I have become very `shatir` after this film, may be. It was interesting to see how a detective approaches a simple thing like finding out an address. Unlike Sherlock Holmes, Byomkesh or Karamchand, Bobby`s approach is simple... She is very real, like anyone of us," she said. `Bobby Jasoos`, which hits theatres this Friday, also stars `Fukrey` fame actor Ali Fazal and has been directed Samar Shaikh.
