Barbra Streisand makes history with new album

Los Angeles: Actress-singer Barbra Streisand has become the first artist to achieve number one albums in each of the last six decades.

Only The Beatles, Jay Z and Bruce Springsteen have achieved more US number one albums. Streisand's album Partners sold 196,000 copies in the week ending September 21, reportedly.

Streisand's first number one People came in 1964, proceeded by The Way We Were (1974), Guilty (1980), The Broadway Album (1985), Back to Broadway (1993), Higher Ground (1997), Love Is the Answer (2009) and Partners (2014).
She recently revealed that her new album almost featured Beyonce.

Partners features Streisand singing with artists including Michael Buble and Lionel Richie. The 72-year-old actress-singer recently said that Buble has become "vulnerable and soft" since becoming a father.
