Beyonce turns pageant queen in `Pretty Hurts` video

Los Angeles: Pop star Beyonce has premiered her new music video for the song `Pretty Hurts` online. The song is the opening track from the singer`s fifth, self-titled album released last year, reportedly. The seven-minute video depicts Beyonce as pageant queen `Miss 3rd Ward`. The video explores the definition of pretty, following Beyonce as an entrant in the beauty contest as she squabbles with other competitors and undergoes various measures to remain `pretty`. The video was released to coincide with Beyonce fronting the cover of TIME`s Top 100 Most Influential People issue."It`s something important for me as an artist, because it`s not about fashion or beauty or music, it`s about the influence I`ve had on culture," she said of the accolade. "To be among the other influential people is a huge honour for me."
