Delhi: Gypsy All Star the Indo-Gypsy Fusion band formed by Cedric Leonardi performed at the Turquoise Cottage, Saket in New Delhi.
Cedric Leonardi’s passion for gypsy music started long before he joined the band Gypsy Kings. The project invites the multi-talented pedigree of gypsies from around the world to share their passion for music and life, igniting audiences wherever they go. It is the first in a series, as the gypsy in Cedric continues to explore music from around the globe.
With a mantra of “Rumba-meets-Raga” founders George Reyes, Mario Reyes and Cedric Leonardi (all former members of the Gipsy Kings) and their talented fellow musicians, French bassist Hadrien Feraud, internationally acclaimed Humayan Khan, flamenco superstar Arleen Hurtado and tabla virtuoso Salar Nadar, made a fantastic performance in Delhi.
The Gypsy All Stars spent 2013 taking the international world music scene by storm. With upcoming specials airing in 2014 on different television channels of their recent, all-out feature performance at the International Folk Festival in Rajasthan, India. The stage is set for an explosion of interest in this group and for their fusion of eastern and western gypsy music,
Turquoise cottage has been lauded umpteen times be it the Award for best music in Pubs & Restaurants in 2004, being on the list of Cosmopolitans top 50 restaurants in 2005, and being listed as one of the country’s best destinations in 2006. The list is endless and till 2007 it was a much sought after destination for all age groups.
