This song featured in 1959 classic 'Chhoti Bahen'. The film starred Nanda in the lead role along with veterans such as Balraj Sahni and Rehman. The song till date remains one of the most popular Rakhi songs one has heard. The song has been sung by the nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar and lyrics were written by the very famous Shailendra.
'Meri Pyari Behaniya'
This is from the 1970 film 'Sachaa Jutha'. The movie was helmed by maverick director Manmohan Desai and had Rajesh Khanna in the lead. The song was sung by the very talented Kishore Kumar. It also stars Mumtaz and Vinod Khanna in pivotal parts.
'Behna Ne Bhai Ki Kalai Se'
This melodious number is from 'Resham Ki Dori'. The film starred Dharmendra and Saira Banu in the lead roles. The song was been sung by Suman Kalyanpur and the lyrics are by Indiwar. Interestingly, the lead role was earlier offered to Rajesh Khanna but due to date issues he could not take it up, so Dharmendra was roped in, reportedly. Check out the full song here:
'Phoolon Ka Taron Ka'
One of the most popular Rakhi song from the film 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' had younger version of Dev Anand and Zeenat Aman singing it to each other. The sibling love is best described in this Hindi film song. The song has been sung by the legendary Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar. The film dealt with the issue of hippie culture and aimed at giving out an anti-drug message. It also depicted problems associated with westernisation of certain issues.
'Mere Bhaiyya Mere Chanda'
Class actress Meena Kumari was seen in the film 'Kaajal'. This popular Rakhi number was picturised on the pathos queen. The film stars Meena Kumari, Dharmendra, Raaj Kumar, Padmini, Helen, Durga Khote, Tun Tun, Mehmood and Mumtaz. Music was composed by Ravi.
