Washington: Looks like Zayn Malik is firing up his solo career after exiting One Direction, as the singer is now officially signed on with RCA records, a'' thanks to Simon Cowell.
Sources revealed that the 55-year-old producer made things possible between the 22-year-old singer and the recording company as Cowell has been negotiating the deal for a couple of weeks, reported TMZ.com.
Talking about the big deal, the singer, who is now competing labels with his former band, tweeted, "I guess I never explained why I left, it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am! #realmusic #RCA !!"
Later, Malik also posted a picture of himself signing the agreement papers.
