London: English rock band The Rolling Stones are planning to start work on their new album in April next year.

Lead guitarist of the band, Keith Richards said he has had "a little chat" with the band members and wants head to the studio in April, reported Digital Spy.

"These guys aren't getting any younger, but at the same time, they're getting better. I'd love to shove them in the studio in April, hot off the road," Richards, 71, said.

A new album would make The Rolling Stones' first studio record in over a decade, with their last one being "A Bigger Bang," that released in 2005.
