Asha Bhonsle releases Tagore compilation

Kolkata: Music icon Asha Bhonsle today released a compilation of Rabindranath Tagore songs sung by Suchitra Mitra along with West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee.

The eminent singer released the album titled `Kichhutei jaina moner bhar` (Yet to overcome the pathos), containing eight Tagore songs and excerpts from Tagore`s dance-drama `Chandalika` recorded by Suchitra Mitra in 1986.

"It is my proud privilege to be present on the occasion of the release of Suchitra Mitra`s audio CD and it is a good feeling. Today I have come to the king`s court (Rajdarbar) in this city of Kolkata which has given me a lot of honour in the past," Bhonsle told reporters.

The chief minister thanking Bhonsle for coming to Kolkata in connection with the album release.
