Bhopal: Veteran playback singer Asha Bhosle mesmerised the audience here with her popular numbers, singing and tapping in her typical youthful style.
"When I can sing and dance at 79, why can`t you?" Asha asked her fans, who waited in large numbers patiently to hear her melodies till 11.30 PM last night, when her concert on the occasion of Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day began.
The legendary singer took to the stage with her popular song `Yeh Mera Dil, Pyar Ka Deewana` forcing the people to forget the November chill that has set in the city of lakes. Later, she left the audience spellbound with the hit
number `Chura Liya hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko` from the film `Yaadon Ki Baraat`.
She also recited a bhajan `Tora Man darpan Kah Laye` from the film `Kaajal` in the honour of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his wife Sadhna. The duo later honoured her on the stage by presenting a shawl, shriphal and a citation.
The singer ended her performance on popular demand by crooning `Dum Maro Dum` from `Hare Rama Hare Krishna` and `Piya tu ab to Aaja` from `Caravan`.
