New Delhi: Popular Pakistani pop rock band Strings, best known for songs like `Duur` and `Dhaani`, is set to record a song for a new Bollywood film titled `John Day`.
Strings - which is a two-member band comprising lead vocalist Faisal Kapadia and composer-guitarist Bilal Maqsood - earlier created songs for Hindi films like "Zinda" and "Shootout At Lokhandwala". They even composed the Khan theme of "My Name Is Khan", while their song "Naa jaane kyun" from the album "Dhaani" was included in the soundtrack of the Hindi version of "Spider-Man 2" in 2004. The song for "John Day" will be a promotional track, said a statement. It will be filmed on actors Naseeruddin Shah and Randeep Hooda, who are back in a film after over a decade. They last shared screen space in 2001 film "Monsoon Wedding". Directed by debutant Ahishor Solomon and produced by "A Wednesday" fame Anjum Rizvi along with K. Asif, "John Day" is a thriller. It also features Elena Kazan, Shernaz Patel, Sharat Saxena and Vipin Sharma. The film is slated to release in summer this year. IANS
