‘Shalu’ faces heat over copying ‘Munni’ and ‘Shiela’

Mumbai: After Malailka grooving on ‘Munni Badnaam’ and Kat sizzling the screen with her hot moves in ‘Shiela ki jawani’ its now turn for ‘Shalu ke Thumke’ to join the race. Malaika Sherawat who has turned Shalu for the song is facing allegations of plagiarism. ‘Shalu ke Thumke’, an item number in the forthcoming film ‘Bin Bulaye Baraati’ is said to help contribute to films success and popularity. But has ben alleged that choreographer Ganesh Acharya has cheated steps from off Farah Khan`s patented dance steps from Sheila ki jawaani in ‘Tees Maar Khan’ , and ‘Munni badnaam hui in Dabangg for Mallika Sherawat`s new item number ‘Shalu ke thumke’. Sources however said to a daily, “Acharya was compelled by the film`s team, who believed that incorporating Katrina Kaif`s and Malaika Arora`s dance steps would add to Sherawat`s oomph quotient. It was felt that since Munni and Sheila have been mentioned in the lyrics, the trademark dance steps from the two songs should reflect in Mallika`s moves. Ganesh`s objections were quickly shouted down.” Farah Khan who reportedly had a boiling argument with choreographer Ganesh Hegde, has washed clean from the controversy by saying to a daily, "I haven`t seen it. Maybe they are just spoofing the Sheila and Munni steps”.
