Panaji: Asia`s foremost electronic music festival, Sunburn 2010, began at Candolim beach in Goa today, heating up party scene for the year-end festivities in this beach heaven.
The three-day long event, organised by Percept Ltd, is expected to attract about 18,000 people.
Youths lined up in large numbers to get tickets which are priced at Rs 4,000 for three days.
The first day of the festival saw police fining almost 100-odd people for smoking in the venue. The organisers have demarcated separated areas for the smokers.
Bollywood and sport stars will also be taking part in the event. Percept Joint Managing Director Shailendra Singh said that the presence of Arjun Rampal, Anil Kapoor, Ravina Tandon, Neha Dhupia, boxing sensation Vijendra Singh and cricketer Yuvaraj Singh has been confirmed.
Shah Rukh Khan and Hritik Roshan are also likely to be there for the festival.
On the opening day, DJs like Sultan, Ned Shephard, Sashanti and Ajit played for the crowd. Former MTV VJ and member of Indian pop girl group Viva, Anushka Manchanda, was in the crowd.
