New York: ‘American Idol’ finalist Adam Lambert has locked in a December 6 release date for his ‘Acoustic Live!’ EP of five songs.
‘Acoustic Live!’ will feature unplugged versions of four songs from Lambert`s 2009 debut album, ‘For Your Entertainment’ – ‘Whataya Want From Me,’ ‘Music Again,’ ‘Aftermath’ and ‘Soaked’ -- along with a stripped-down cover of Tears for Fears` ‘Mad World,’ -- one of the standout numbers he performed last year on the ‘American Idol’ singing contest.
The album cover features a shirtless Lambert flashing a fingerless, gloved peace sign in front of a red, white and blue background.
In a recent interview overseas, Lambert said he recorded the material for ‘Acoustic Live!’ while touring and doing promotional appearances for ‘For Your Entertainment.’
"We went around Europe in the earlier part of this year...and we did a lot of promo, so I had Monty my guitar player, and my drummer at the time," he said. "We just did very stripped-back versions of the songs, then we also recorded some of the stuff from the actual Glam Nation tour."
Lambert added that the full-length follow-up to ‘For Your Entertainment’ is at early stage.
"I have things that I`m writing down, little notes that I`m writing here and there, but nothing`s started yet on it. But hopefully it`ll be out by the spring or summer of next year," he said.
Lambert`s ‘Acoustic Live!’ will be available at digital retailers and adamofficial.com, which will also offer a limited number of physical copies. "
‘For Your Entertainment’ has sold 752,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
