London: Grammy winning singer Adele is among a host of stars expected to perform at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics.
The 23-year-old `Rolling in the Deep` hitmaker, who won six Grammys and two BRITs this year, has been approached to perform at the grand sporting event, reported Daily Mail online.
"Without saying we have booked anyone, it goes from Elgar to Adele. It is not just a pop concert, it is not just a classical rendition. It will be everything that we think is fabulous about British music," said Music director David Arnold, who has promised the London event will feature lots of fabulous British music.
It is believed the London Symphony Orchestra will provide musical backing to the performers.
Previous acts suggested for the big event include Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones and the Spice Girls, although the girl group have since denied they will be taking part.
The London Olympics begin on July 27.
