Black Eyed Peas ‘planning charity concert in Central Park’
New York: The Black Eyed Peas are reportedly planning a charity concert on the Great Lawn in Central Park on June 9.
The band -- will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo and Fergie -- recently played at the Super Bowl.
"The concert has been set up with Mayor Bloomberg`s office. They want it to rival the concert that Simon and Garfunkel did in Central Park,” the New York Post quoted a source as saying.
In 1981, the duo did a free concert on the Lawn that was attended by more than 500,000 people and later released as an album.
