Cheryl Cole faces plagiarism charge
London: British pop star Cheryl Cole is caught in a bitter plagiarism battle over her hit single `Fight For This Love` which is allegedly a copy.
Bosses at music labels Universal, Sony and Emi, have joined hands to fight accusations from music publishers Wardlaw Banks and Peermusic that Cole`s 2009 chart smash borrowed chunks from an unreleased demo called `I Want You Back`, reported Contactmusic.
`I Want....` was composed in 2001 by Kevin Hughes, Simon Chapman and Wayne Wilkins, who also has a writing credit on `Fight For This Love`.
A judge will now have to decide whether or not Cole`s single copied the demo.
