London: Michael Jackson’s family has announced that they are organizing a tribute concert for the late pop star in Britain on October 8.
Jackson’s mother, Katherine, revealed the details of the concert that is due to be held at Millennium Stadium in Wales.
“Michael gave his entire life to the world through his love, his music and his devotion to healing the planet,” the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.
She also added that whosoever is available in her family will be present at the concert.
“I am positive that this event will be an event great enough in scale, talent and imagination to form a worthy celebration of Michael’s life,” the bereaved mother said.
“If my son was here today, he would feel the same way, and so I’d like to say thank you very much for helping to keep my son’s legacy alive,” she added.
Though the acts that will be performed have not been announced, the concert’s website assured that ‘the world’s greatest performing artists’ would appear.
The organizers are planning to broadcast the show across 30 countries in the world in 2D and 3D.
The money raised will be distributed between three charities, including the Los Angeles-based Aids Project.
