Elton John performs a defiant show in Tel Aviv
London: Singer Elton John played a defiant show in Tel Aviv, taking aim at artists who had pulled out of concerts in Israel in protest against the government`s alleged ill-treatment of Palestinians.
John refused to bow to pressure and performed Thursday asking his fellow musicians to put aside their political allegiances, a news website said.
"Shalom, we are so happy to be back here! Ain`t nothing going to stop us from coming, baby! Musicians spread love and peace, and bring people together. That`s what we do. We don`t cherry-pick our conscience," John said.
Recently artists like The Pixies and Elvis Costello scraped their concerts in response to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.
