Eminem settles Audi lawsuit over use of his song

London: Rapper Eminem has reached a financial settlement with the bosses of Audi car company, after he filed a lawsuit objecting to the unauthorised use of his popular song `Lose Yourself` in their advertisement.

The 38-year-old rapper and his company has accused the German car giant in June of using his popular track for promotion of the new Audi A6 Avant, without his consent.

The track was earlier allowed to feature in a commercial for rival car maker Chrysler.

Eminem had asked the judge to issue an cease and desist order to Audi bosses. But the legal battle has been settled out of court, reported Contactmusic.

The `Love the Way You Lie` hitmaker has also claimed that the Audi advert was very similar with his own ad for Chrysler, which depicted him driving through his hometown of Detroit, Michigan behind the wheel of a new Chrysler 200.

The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, but Audi bosses are understood to have vowed to donate to the `Imported from Detroit` charity, among others.
