Green Day to take a break after completing Australian tour
Los Angeles: Punk rock band Green Day has announced that they are going to take a break following their upcoming Australian tour scheduled for 2014.
After touring Down Under in February and March, the American band will take their time off as a band to focus on their other projects, reported Ace showbiz.
"We`re going to Australia, doing a tour there and then we`re going to take a break," frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said in an interview.
"We haven`t really been doing much. So it`s just nice to kind of do some other things, you know, when we get ready to do Green Day again, our batteries will be charged," he added.
The `American Idiot` hitmakers are lined up to play five shows at Australia`s Soundwave Festival, which will kick off in Sydney on February 22.
They will head to Melbourne and Adelaide before wrapping things up in Perth on March 3.
