Red Hot Chili Peppers, rappers Beastie Boys and Guns N` Roses have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Los Angeles: Funk rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers, rappers Beastie Boys and Guns N` Roses have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Also inducted at the five-hour-long annual bash, held every three years near the Rock Hall site in Cleveland, were the late blues guitarist Freddie King, singer-songwriters Donovan and the late Laura Nyro, backing groups the Blue Caps, the Comets, the Crickets, the Famous Flames, Faces, the Miracles and the Midnighters, a leading daily has said. Before the ceremony started with a performance by Green Day, Chili Peppers lead singer Anthony Kiedis said it was strange to be enshrined while on tour. Meanwhile former Faces star Rod Stewart, 67, could not make it to the induction ceremony and he said that he was devastated. "Unfortunately Rod is battling the flu this week and regrettably he is unable to accept his induction in person in Cleveland," a statement read. "I am absolutely devastated. Shattered that I am going to miss my second induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and this time alongside my mates," the legendary singer said. Stewart, who missed his 1994 induction as a solo artist due to an earthquake in Los Angeles, cancelled this appearance due to illness as did Beastie Boy Adam Yauch. PTI
