Jay-Z to be executive producer of `Great Gatsby` soundtrack

Melbourne: Jay-Z has been announced as the executive producer of Baz Luhrmann`s screen adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald`s masterpiece The Great Gatsby.The collaboration was sparked after the film`s star Leonardo DiCaprio introduced Jay-Z to director Baz Luhrman, New.com.au reported.

The 43-year-old singer said in a statement that as soon as he spoke with Luhrman and DiCaprio, he knew this was the right project. He added that the movie, which is a classic American story of one`s introduction to extravagance, decadence and illusion, is ripe for experimentation and ready to be interpreted with a modern twist.
