K`naan upset over Romney`s use of `Waving Flag`

New York: Rapper K`Naan has hit out at US presidential hopeful Mitt Romney for using his song `Waving Flag` in a campaign speech without permission.
K`Naan, real name Keinan Abdi Warsame, was not pleased after Romney played the popular track at an appearance in Florida on Tuesday, and admitted he would never have given the Republican candidate his consent, reported Huffington Post. "I have not been asked for permission by Mitt Romney`s campaign for the use of my song. If I had been asked, I would certainly not have granted it," he said in a statement. But the Somalia-born Canada-based star said he would gladly allow sitting President Barack Obama to use the track in his re-election campaign. "I would happily grant the Obama campaign use of my song without prejudice," he said. The song was a global hit, reaching the top ten in 19 charts around the world and was chosen as Coca-Cola`s promotional anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, hosted by South Africa. PTI
