Katy Perry is first artist to be on Billboard`s chart for 52 consecutive weeks
New York: Katy Perry has broken the record to become the first artist in history to be on Billboard`s Hot 100 chart for 52 consecutive weeks.
The singer always has a single on the chart for a full year, reports the New York Daily News.
Last May, she released her first No. 1 single, ‘California Gurls,’ and from her third album, ‘Teenage Dream.’
And ever since, the three follow-up singles ‘Teenage Dream,’ ‘Firework’ and ‘E.T.’ has all gone straight to the top too.
Before Perry, Ace of Base had held the title of the artist with the most consecutive weeks spent on Billboard``s Hot 100 with 48 weeks.
