Katy unimpressed by Britney`s video
Los Angeles: Katy Perry is not impressed with the "in your face" product placement in fellow pop star Britney Spears latest music video `Hold It Against Me`.
The `California Gurls` hitmaker jumped into a debate on Twitter, started by British singer Marina of `Marina and the Diamonds` who posted the question, "What is consensus on
product placement in videos? As a fan, do you prefer product placement if it means bigger budget for video (sic)?"
Perry slammed Spears` recent advertisement-friendly video, tweeting, "Do it with style and grace... Not so in ur face like some. U hav to get creative with it. Some artists don`t care tho and u can tell (sic)."
Spears reportedly made a whopping half a million dollars from product placements in her new music video.
From cosmetics to a dating website, companies paid her a combined total of USD 500,000 to feature their items in the four-and-half minute video, reported a website.
Besides the `Toxic` hitmaker, another artist who recently made an advertisement-friendly music video is AvrilLavigne.
The 26 year-old pop punk singer makes use of her `What the Hell` clip to promote some Sony electronic products as well as her own products including Black Star perfume and
Abbey Dawn clothing.
