Lady Gaga inspires me, says Kylie Minogue
London: Australian pop star Kylie Minogue says that she had to rethink the direction of her new album when Lady Gaga came on the music scene, because she was so inspiring.
The petite 42-year-old singer strikes a series of sexy poses for gay magazine Out, as she reveals `Aphrodite`- which shot to the top of the UK charts last week - was partly inspired by Gaga, a news website reported.
"Lady Gaga dropped a meteor in the middle of the pop landscape - which is amazing. But it meant that we had to take that into account. It wouldn`t have made any sense to go down that road to try to fit in," Minogue told the magazine.
The `Loco Motion` singer also said that despite the worldwide critical acclaim her album has so far received, she hates dealing with any bad reviews.
"It cuts like a knife if I read a bad review. But in the end, how the album is received by the press wouldn`t make any difference to me - I`d still come back. A few thousand people in a room sharing two or three hours together - when all the other stuff gets too complex to understand, that`s a really good place to bring it back to," she said.
Minogue also talked about wearing a series of inspiring outfits, including her famous gold hot-pants, and said she doesn`t think of herself as a trendsetter.
"I don`t even have a tattoo. I`m so untrendy. I think maybe I should have one - I`d secretly like to have a galaxy somewhere," she said.
Aphrodite is Minogue`s 11th studio album and features an array of catchy summer tunes, including the first single from the record, All The Lovers.
