Lily Allen regrets pop career

London: Lily Allen regrets launching a pop career and has confessed she was "sucked in" by the lure of fame.

The `Smile` hit-maker fast became one of the most famous names in British pop after bursting onto the scene in 2006 - but has now admitted she was seduced by fame and rues becoming such a well-known public figure, reported Female First online.

"I definitely got sucked in and attracted by something that I thought was real and now I have realised that it isn`t and it is not necessarily something that I really want to be a part of," said Allen.

"You will see me gravitate away from it all," she added.

The 25-year-old singer plans to retire from recording and performing live later this year to concentrate on setting up a music label and a designer clothes hire store.
