London: LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ was judged the highest selling song in 2011 on the UK version of iTunes.
Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ finished second with Maroon 5’s ‘Moves Like Jagger’ in third place. Rounding off the top five were Jessie J with ‘Price Tag’ and Pitbull with ‘Give Me Everything’. Adele’s album, 21, was the most downloaded of the year after being named the biggest-selling album of the century earlier this week. Her debut album 19 was also the 11th biggest seller of the year, almost three years after its release. “I’m thrilled to top the iTunes album chart of 2011 and to be iTunes artist of the year is just amazing,” the BBC quoted Adele as saying. The British star recovering from throat surgery was also named artist of the year by iTunes while Ed Sheeran was named new artist of the year. ANI
