Melbourne: Madonna will be presenting a special tribute award to Britney Spears during the MTV Video Music Awards.
The 29-year-old singer, who will be performing her hits ‘Hold It Against Me’ and ‘I Wanna Go’, will also witness famous fans including Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Kesha, Demi Lovato, Nicki Minaj and Janet Jackson come together to pay the singer a special musical tribute.
The tribute, usually reserved for performers much older than the ‘Baby One More Time’ hitmaker is said to have been set up just to ensure Spears’ appearance on the show.
“Britney’s young to receive an award like this, but the producers know that it will force Britney to come to the show,” News.com.au quoted a source as saying.
“That will help boost ratings,” the source stated.
