Paul Simon hopes to re-unite with Art Garfunkel for final farewell tour

London: Paul Simon has spoken of his wish to sing with childhood friend Art Garfunkel one last time and “maybe do 10 or 15 shows and then say goodbye".

However, the reunion may not happen immediately as Garfunkel has been suffering from vocal chord paresis, a weakness of one or both vocal chords, since 2010, reports Sky News.

The American duo did briefly get together in 2010 to do a tour but had to cut it short due to Garfunkel’s illness.

Simon and Garfunkel were one of the biggest bands to come out of the 1960s and rose to fame with hits including The Sound of Silence, Hazy Shade of Winter and Mrs Robinson.

They split up in 1970 following the release of their number one, Grammy award winning album, Bridge Over Troubled Water.
