New Delhi: R&B superstar Akon is all set to mesmerise his fan in India with his maiden concert this April.
The `Smack that` hitmaker, who debuted his voice in Bollywood with Shah Rukh Khan starrer `Ra.One`, is taking his India connection further by celebrating his birthday in Gurgaon on April 16 with a live show. He will also perform in Bengaluru next day.
Akon plans to treat his Indian fans with his internationally acclaimed numbers including `Beautiful`, `Lonely`, `Right Now`, `Dangerous`, `I`m So Paid` and `Angel`.
"It`s your boy Akon and you heard it straight from me - New Delhi and Bengaluru get ready for my live show. The wait is finally over and now for the first time ever, I`m excited to bring my live show to India," Akon said in a statement.
"I can`t wait for my fans to join me where I`ll be performing all of your favorites and some new songs from my upcoming album, `Stadium`. It`s also my birthday so I have something very special planned for all my fans so you know it`s going to be one big party," he added.
The Indian edition of Venky`s Akon Live In Concert is being brought to India by Netsurf Entertainment and B M Group, IVNO Events and Productions in association with Thrive Entertainment and S Raj Entertainment.
"India is a huge market for international artists and we aim to capitalize on this opportunity by identifying a confluence of musical styles, bringing together world class performers across genres on a single platform," said Sujit Jain, MD, Netsurf Entertainment, who is bringing Akon to India.
Proceeds from the concert will be donated to Mana Shetty`s NGO Save The Children India.
